Fair Information Updated

The 59th Fort Worth Regional Science and Engineering Fair (FWRSEF) will be held at the Amon Carter Exhibit Hall of Will Rogers Memorial Center on February 28 – March 1, 2010. The FWRSEF is the oldest regional science fair in Texas with students ranging from sixth through twelfth grade participating to advance science, mathematics and engineering studies. Each year students compete for hundreds of awards, such as college scholarships. There is no cost for schools or students to participate in the FWRSEF. In addition, high school students who are placed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in their category will have the opportunity to attend the 2010 State ExxonMobil Texas Science & Engineering Fair at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, (April 9–12). The FWRSEF Best of Fair (first and second place) will be sent to the 2010 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in San Jose, California (May 9–14) all expenses paid.

Although most schools usually hold their own district fairs, there are other methods students can followr to participate in the FWRSEF. As long as all Intel Science and Engineering Fair’s guidelines and rules are adhered to, students may still enter the Regional Fair on an individual basis. Details may be found on the FWRSEF Website or ISEF Website. The only registration forms that can be used are those generated by ISEF, which can be found on the FWRSEF and ISEF websites. Completed packets must be mailed to FWRSEF, PO Box 6125, Fort Worth, TX 76115. We are currently updating our website (www.fwrsef.org) that will provide specific information and guidelines, that students and schools should understand if you plan to participate.

The Registration deadline is January 22nd, 2010. Projects needing approval from the Scientific Review Committee (SRC) must be approved either by a local SRC or the FWRSEF SRC by December 12, 2009.
